SLOVENIA - June 2002

SLOVENIA - June 2002
While in Germany we went camping with Rose and 10 others. The camp site was situated in the Soca Valley in a town called Bovec. It's surrounded by mountains and more than 10 different rivers that ranged from a 2- 5 in strength (6 being the max). Mostly a kayakers haven and any other outdoor sport (rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, etc)

I could have stayed a month. Clean hot showers, hot water to wash dishes (dish scrubbies were even provided). Wine was about 1$ - 5$ per bottle and the weather was 90 degrees mid day and 65 degrees by night. The river was about as warm as an icecube and attempts to jump in were usually accompanied by screams and numbness. But it was hot and the water was pristine so most of us were in the river despite its temperature. And yes... there were snakes (not to mention the other creepy crawleys I didn't encounter) Nevertheless... I'll go back every chance I get.
